I hate to start stupid threads but I'm kinda lost with this one.

As you all know I'm building an LS/Vtec setup and found a good deal on the golden eagle kit with ARP headstuds. But it doesn't say which ARP headstuds they include with the kit so I emailed them.

For those of you who dont know if you use B16 headstuds they are too short and will strip the threads in your block.

Hi, I will be purchasing the LS/Vtec conversion kit within the next week or so and was curious as to what ARP headstuds(i.e. B16,b18c1) you guys send out with the kit.

With the kit, we include the correct studs to do the LS-VTEC or B20 conversion. Thanks.

I emailed them back telling them I need to know because i dont want risking stripping my block.So far I have mot been emailed back.

This is directly quoted from my email. I was kinda pissed/frusturated with this response, it shows that these people dont know what the hell they're doing and don't know what they supply.

i would say wait for next email first then go from there. might just be one of the general secretarys working there just generaly answering your question. since you asked a specific question they might go find out a specific answer. who knows though wait and see what they say.

that does suck though i wouldnt be happy with thay answer either.

 

well i think that they kno what there doing so they will send a lil longer head stud anyway golden eagle is a very reputable comp. so i would jus keep playing email tag and get the answer that you want

well the correct head studs they refer too would be the gsr headstuds. im sure they know what studs to ship out. i mean they did put the head studs in with the package. they have been selling this package for a while. im sure they know gsr headstuds are the only ones that work correctly. i wouldnt worry about it.

 

who told you if you use b16 they will strip its not true i used many they are only 2 threads less then Gsr it will not HArm anything

 

hehehe what a shit site why would they show a VTEC headgasket if its a lsvtec kit what dips

 

i can get u a ls/vtec kit for alot less than that and its as good as anyother ive seen. we have sold hundreds of them and never once has any once complained that the kit did not preform as it should have. the price is $170 shipped and comes with everything u need. we can throw in an extra oil fitting for $10 if u are ever planning on going turbo. pm me

 

i'm using b16 head studs on my ls vtec. been on there for about 2 years now. no problems.

 

I used B16 head studs on my LS/VTEC and my poor mans type r!!!
Never had a problem...
