I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

sounds like you didnt adjust the tensioner right... I did a timing belt on a 94 LS and had to adjust it twice to get it right.

be sure you are not turning the motor backwards. Hondas rotate counterclockwise.

If it is going loose tight loose tight then it sounds like something is bent or out of round. I dont see how the tensioner could make it go tight loose etc etc. Make sure the tensioner is locked in place & rotate & see at what point it changes from loose to tight.

did you properly rotate the assembly. your suppose to tighten your tensioner, turn the motor over by hand from the crank 3 times. then check the tensioner once again/

+1
i guess it all depends on what he's calling lose and tight, and also the direction that he's rotating the crank.
but yeah, if you're rotating the crank counter clock wize smoothly, and the belt gets tight in a certain position and then pretty loose when turned a lil more, and then back really tight again, it's got to be something bent, or something stuck in the teeth on one of the spockets.
i helped a guy that was having that same problem a while back, and he had a few peices of old T belt stuck in the teeth of the crank sprocket.
his motor sheared the teeth off of his belt and i guess it was pretty hot when it did it so some of the belt teeth kinda glued theirself in the sprocket teeth.

now on the other hand, if there is just a lil variance in the tight and loose, it could just need to be tightend a lil more. epecially if you're turning the crank backwards or kinda sloppy like stop start stop start.
it all depend's on just how loose and tight we're talkin about here!
