Default o2 sensor help / a/f gauge ?

my one and only o2 sensor didnt work because my preheater had a short somewhere in the wireing so i had my ecu chipped 2 remove it and i run on none. (now the tricky part) so i want to boost soon but would like to have an a/f gauge can i hook up a one wire o2 sensor like off of a crx and hook that wire directly to the gauges signal wire and get a reading or would it have to be going to the ecu and be spliced into to get a signal lemme know if yall have done this or if it will work please!

You need a wideband oxygen sensor.

What is a wideband oxygen sensor?
A wideband oxygen sensor is a sensor which allows you to monitor parts air to fuel. Most people have the preconception that a basic autometer air/fuel guage using the stock oxygen sensor in their vehicle will give them all the information they need about being in a lean or rich condition. This information is false, the factory narrowband oxygen sensor will not provide you with an accurate reading because the oxygen sensor is a narrowband sensor which does not have a wide enough of a range to accurately sense air/fuel mixtures needed to properly tune a vehicle. The purchase of a wideband oxygen sensor is not required due to the fact that almost every tuner provides one with his services etc.

On your boosted ecu program, you can simply disable o2 sensor feedback which would enable you to run no oxygen sensor at all.
