tranny rebuild

Default tranny rebuild

what is tipically replaced wen rebuilding a honda transmission? i just put a dx tranny in my hatch 4 now but i am going to rebuild the si tranny. is it just syncro's and any bent shift forks? or is there more that should be replaced? i do not want to just make it work for 10,000 miles, i want it done right. thanks

seals, syncros and syncro springs. Unless abused or something broke, those are the parts that wear. Really have to shop to get syncro springs with the set, unless you go OEM, of course.

and is that all avaible thru hondaland? or is it gonna be aftermarket?

i just called hondaland, its 850 for 3 syncros w/springs, about 80 dollars each shift fork and about 40 dollars in seals!! i know of my friend having theres rebuilt by someone else for about 250.. do these prices sound reasonable??

250 sounds in the range of rebuild labor price. Contact Welcome To Gearspeed !! to get OEM parts for it. Bert-o on here can rebuild the tranny and tell you what you need.

i remember when i was doing my dseries, i went with bert-o on parts something like the syncors are sold as a set and not seperate. There is a place were you can buy just the syncro oem or something you will have to contact bert.

you already have a used one, right? $250-275 and you have a rebuilt one.
