How do i DIY paint the rims?

Default How do i DIY paint the rims?

i have a set of 14" honda alloy rims..
two of them are painted black by previous owner
and two of them are stock silver...
how do i diy paint them the color i want?
where do i get the paint and stuff ?i need to sand those black rims right ?
anyone? help please...and that will be my weekend project...

well, sand down the entire surface of the wheel itself. make sure its smooth and what not. clean the wheels with a denatured alcohol of some sort, or a surface cleaner to make sure the surface is completely clean. primer the wheels, make sure its smooth again, maybe wetsand a bit. then spray your paint, make sure you spray evenly. its really easy to notice on wheels. make sure its exactly how you want it, and then clearcoat them. its really simple.

now, you can get the paint anywhere really...

thanks dude...just use the regular rattle can paint ?and how many coats of paints and clear coat?
thanks and where can i get the primer ?

i would just use the regular stuff. i would say two coats of primer, and 3-4 coats of paint. 3 coats of clear... you can get the primer anywhere you get the paint

Make sure you mask off the tires well. Unless there out of the tire, then your ok.
