Urgent: about eg hatch lug nut

the stock lug nut on my civic is about 3 quarter inches long
would that be ok and safe if i get one and half inches long lug nut?
cause thats all i can find from the auto shop...

3/4" is the stockers... he can only find ones that are 1 1/2", I don't see why it wouldn't be safe, it's longer so its "safer" than the 3/4" ones. You might have to goto a open lug nut though, I don't know how deep closed ends will go.

are you sure your not measuring your stud from the brakes out and getting 3/4" that seems mad short... the 1 1/2" is probably the same length just the extra length is going to be behind the brakes when you install them...

i see no problems with the short ones. that is what i have on my car and have never had a issue with them and my car has seen up to 140 mph. the short ones are cool cause it will give a more tuck or flush look depending on what rims you got rather than having a extended wheel stud look on all four corners on your whip. ultimately its up to you in what you want to put on, if they are and i think they are oem you should be fine cause with oem you can't go wrong!!!!!! "meaning the long ones"

as long as its the right thread pitch 12X 1.5, and you have more than 5 turns to get it snug you will be fine. i had short ones on my coupe and never had a problem with them.

The taper of the lug surface that bears against the wheel is more critical
than how long the actual lug is.

Example: Toyota lugs have a different taper on the mating surface than a honda has......and they use bigger socket sizes.

Be sure the stud doesn't bottom in the
lug before the closed-end lug contacts the wheel surface.

It does no good for the lug to be torqued to specs, but to only lightly touch the wheel surface.-Bob
