Problem with speedo in a 98 civic LX 4dr. PLEASE HELP
Hey all I just bought a 1998 LX Civic and one of the MANY problems is that the speedo is not working properly. The person that i bought it from never did on single mod on this car, if that helps. One thing that will happen is when you turn on the car and rev the engine the mph will go to like 50mph and come back down. Not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that the electrical system is having problems. for example the Headlights will dim to almost off and then come back. any helps is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, he replied very quick but didn't tell me what the problem was, just said for me to meet up with him in Tampa but i'm stuck in West Palm Beach and i don't think my civic will make it to tampa. so anyone with any other advice is greatly appreciated.

what fuse(number on fusebox) is it blowing?

1.check for TIGHT conections at alternator, and Alt wire(BIG WHITE wire) at fuse box under hood. Make sure none tried to rewire an obd1 alt. into the car.
2. Also, ANY funny wires under hood.......follow them, see where they go. Make sure no one tried to wire their ricer lights into the harness.
3. unplug the speed sensor and drive it for a day. see if the fuse blows like that.
