b17 swap w/55 shot...need help with timing!!
I had to throw a distributer on my Crx to get it home from the shop and we set it dead center to get it home. However, I have a 55 shot on her and have no idea where the timing needs to be. I have a b17 swap. Please help!! I havent had this car for like 6 months and REALLY want to get her out to the track!!
well, you should get a timming gun and set the dizzy back to spec. i think oem honda has timming set to 16 degree adv. a 55 shot, zex says you dont neet to retard timming. soo, if you can get your timming back to spec, it should be fine.

There are many factors to consider like: Is your ecu stock or chipped. The reason being is most aftermarket ecus for all motor setups advance your ignition timing values.
You should do some reading on the subject of plug reading & consider putting the car on a dyno to do your plug reading & use a wideband sniffer to determin your air/fuel ratios.

I actually need to come see you. I came up there with Josh in the green Integra not too long ago. Id like to go over some things and see what you think I should do with my car as far as ecu, etc
