built gsr break in question
if you are really worried about hurting something by having the boost on during breakup, which is a reasonable concern, why not just run it stock till you break it in? like John said, throw on some stock injectors, run an OE ECU, and drive it like a stock GSR for 1500 miles...
that way, you are 100% positive that its solid when you throw on the turbo and boost its brains out

but like John said, everyone's got an opinion. i would just err on the side of cautious in your situation...
g/l bro!

I will post when I get home later but the motor is usually broken in within the first half hour of running it. My personal motor had 190 compression across after twenty five minutes. Startup. Street tune. Dyno tune

It does not matter N/A or Boost. Mtber is correct. The startup tune is critical. You dont want to wash a cylinder out on your new motor. Call a professional tuner and buy a wideband like the UEGO. This is more important than an RPM gauge!

I will break down what I did with my person motor and what I do with other people's personal motors (friends, customers, etc). Turn off the injectors/coil. Turn the motor over a couple times. Start the motor and start to dial in the A:F. Have someone else check for leaks. Once the A:F is dialed in and we establish there are no leaks I set the idle to 1500RPM for a couple minutes. Then to 2000RPM for a couple minutes. Finally to 2500RPM. This takes about twenty five minutes. While at 2500RPM I will free rev. After twenty five minutes I change the oil and oil filter. Take the car out for partial throttle street tuning. Change the oil and oil filter again. Take the car out for full throttle street tuning. Change the oil and oil filter again. Finally take it to the dyno and make some power
The oil and filter are changed quite a bit but I use and recommend Castrol GTX which shouldnt be a big deal considering you just spent a bit of change on the build and setup

I like to start my turbo motors up with everything installed except a stock ecu and injectors this way you can start it up and confirm no leaks or anything is mechanically wrong before you waste a tuners time coming out to your car and not being able to tune it.
I made this mistake before and called John out to tune a car and when we started it up the turbo feed line had a leak from where the fitting was crimped which basically made the night a waste of time.
