Post Where Can I Find A Thick Head Gasket & Head Bolts?

I just picked up a '92 GSR Integra and I'm looking to boost it. Already have most of it planned out and picked up a KMS block gaurd. I'm looking for a thick head gasket and I have no clue where to start looking or where my price should be starting at. Also would stacking two stock gaskets and RTV'ing them work ok? I know it's the ghetto way to do it, but does it work descent? I'm also looking for ARP head bolts or another trustworthy brand, where can I order those? I'm also missing the idle screw on my throttle body that's currently on my car. I tried removing one from another stock throttle body, but with no luck. Are there any trick to getting them out? Honda/Acura is new to me, so I have no clue where I can order these parts from. If you have any input on this or my turbo plans please let me here them, please be positive.

No, don't do that. Felpro MLS or Cometics are the way to go. I personally like Cometics. Call 'em and they'll custom make you multi-layered steel headgaskets to whatever thickness/comrpession you desire. Only downside is they WON'T blow. Yes, thats a downside. If something goes horribly, horribly wrong your block will split before they blow.

And just go to Summitracing.com for the ARP head STUDS (screw bolts, err, that is, if you honda guys can use head studs?). They have decent prices on them. If you're gonna do this, use the best and do it right or end up like every other ghetto rigged bolt-on turbo car out there.

Yea, I agree with the whole ghetoness. My last turbo car I bought the previous owner did a horrible job with everything and I want this one to be 100% correct. No Lowe's plumbing section oil returns & 2" exhaust piping i/c piping & zip-ties holding the i/c to the chassis haha. So where can I order those Cometic head gaskets and what's the going price? I'm also not sure what thickness I need... I know the head was shaved, so I need to make-up for that. So what thickness do you guys recomend? I'll check for the prices for the ARP's. Do I need to do anything else to the actual engine other than the blockgaurd, head gasket & ARP bolts? I know I need bigger injectors, but what size or does that depend on the size of the turbo?

I swar to god that has to be a Honda thing, I've NEVER seen any other cars with ziptied radiators/intercoolers but I see ya'll with 'em all teh time, and on FAST cars too...oh well, we all have our 'things'.

Umm, figure out what the block was decked to, figure out if you have 0 decked pistons or if not measure with a micrometer the distance from the top of the piston at TDC to the top of the block, whether or not you have a stock stroke in it, what cc your head is, what compression you want, and call Cometic. They'll do the rest.

just install LS pistons in the motor if your going to rebuild...the b17 has a dome on it and if you install ls piston your will be safer then getting thicker gasket

? People run MLS headgaskets on pro cars with no problems. There's no danger as long as you don't go crazy and screw up the quench..Hell, I have 64 thousandths headgaskets. Only thing pistons would be is more bullshit. Also, what material are both pistons made out of? Nobody knows it better than the guys in my forum that good pistons are a must...
