civic cv axle removal

Default civic cv axle removal

what is the right way to remove cv axles from a 1997 civic ex

from a Ek i find easiest to undo the 32mm bolt WHILE THE CAR IS STILL ON THE GROUND TO BUST IT LOose. then take off the wheel then undo the 14mm controll arm bolts then un do the 14mm strut fork bolt then undo the 17mm bottom strut fork bolt then take off the fork get a large size flat head screw driver slip it into between the tranny and cv and pop it right out its a 20min job If that

you can take the wheel off , and drop a screw driver in the brake pad so the caliper holds it as well

Is this the same way u would do it on a 94 civic, or it different/more difficult?...sorry for thread jacking but im about to do my cv's soon and just needs some DIY tips

it will be almost exactly the same... the suspension geometry on the 92-95s is a little different, but using what he said should get u through it fine
