Default blue smoke when sitting over a day.....

I have a 00 civic si and its been boosted for about 800 - 1000 miles...the engine has 56k on it.....ok, so i didnt drive the car yesterday and today when i turned it on it was smoking blue everywhere....alot of smoke....the thing is on dp so i looked under there and it was just puffing out blue smoke.....i guess im burning oil but after i started driving it went away....when i get on it hard ill see a little smoke come inside the car cuz the dp is right under the shift knob.......i have an oil leak which is right on top of the dp so i thought it was oil dripping on the dp when hot but when i got under there to look today i noticed it was puffing blue smoke.....yes i know i know, rings or valve seals but why will it go away? the turbo kit was brand new btw........

valve seals. goes away because the oil leaks down past the seals when the car sits, gathering in the cylinder. When running, some oil is passing in real-time, but not enough to cause a blue cloud the way it would after sitting a while.

hmmm.....that makes sense.....so if i let it sit for a while and pull a plug i should see oil accumulated on one or more of the pistons? if so, would it hurt to keep driving it like this? How hard of a fix is it and how expensive?

valve seals can be replaced without pulling the head, but it is a bit of a pain. You have to take off valve springs, retainers, etc, and also keep the valves from dropping into the cyl via air pressure in the cyl. Also a big risk of losing a keeper down in the head somewhere.
Leaking seals don't harm anything, thought he smoke is annoying. I'd say live with it until it's time to rebuild.

you wont notice such little oil gettin past if its this recent . hard to judge such a small amount on an archaic metal rod dipped into an unlevel oil each time you check it .

so fix that , pull the head and put all new seals in . wont take more than 1/2 day.. you should machine the head while your at it though for added protection and testing measures.
