I'm looking to replace a d16y8 motor in a 97 civic ex what is the best motor I can get for cheep? I saw the d16a/zc motor will this hook right up to the stock harness, with no problems throw out the swap. let me here what you know!

depending on whats wrong with your Y8 motor, id say grab up the D16A, take the pistons out, but some new rings/bearings, drop em in your Y8 block, and get a mild (cheap) VTEC cam...

the rod or crank bearings seized and motor wount crank over, think the block is bad

hmm...

i personally think the Y8 was second only to the Z6 as far as D-series goes, so if you can get a cheap Z6 longblock with your tranny, id think that would be the best starting point, but thats just me...
