Default Engine Swap on Grass ?

Can i do an engine swap on Grass/dirt ? I have a cherry picker.
should i put down wood for the picker to roll on or is grass/dirt ok ?
I would do the swap in my front yard with concrete but people will call the city on me.

will it be the longest and most frusterating swap ever done by man? quite possibly.

do you not have any friends who will let u borrow a driveway/garage for a day?

and just so you know, a B-series swap is not going to be more than 250 ish, D-series even less...

Find some sheets of plywood underneath the cherry picker, you should be fine afterwards! We getrdun boys from Bradenton do this all the time

Like Bert-o said get some plywood, 3/4" works well. When I used to crew at Sebring we'd bring four sheets of 3/4" plywood and lay down on the grass so we could work on the cars and it always worked very well.

Default Cool

So plywood sounds good. thanks
Do you guys know if you can use jack stands on the plywood?
Also is it easier to pull the motor with the tranny or just the motor?

I did my FIRST EVER swap in ROCKS! Boy, I think it took me and 95gainfla like 3-4 days combined to get that thing done(we had to take and engine out of my car and the donor, and put mine back in) but yeah its possible and i did this without plywood too. now i can swap motors in just a few hours(ive had my share of spun bearings )

Umm me and Pd_Jake have done about 6 swaps in the grass.. its no biggy, we actually didn't even use a hoist, we dropped it out the bottom.. much easier, just put it on a board and slid it out
