Tuner Needed
I am looking for a tuner in the tampa/orlando area for my ls/vtec setup...i am looking to run crome pro because i have ran it on my last few motors and like the program overall even though i was not happy with my last tune on crome(that was the tuner though)...
so i am asking who everyone around here would reccomend for tuning...
btw...please don't waste your time reccomending John Vega and phearable.net....he tuned one of my cars and though he is more experienced tuning now, he will not get my money again b/c i was not happy with the outcome....
thanks everyone...looking for both street and dyno tuners

There are three sides to every story. Why were you not happy with John Vega's results? If you're not going to contact John Vega I would get in touch with John at LHT

1. You scheduled an appointment for dyno tuning.
2. You showed up, I strapped the car down, asked you questions about the motor build etc.
3. Started tuning the car....
4. A few pulls were made.
5. The car was making less power then a stock b16 & I felt we should pull the car off the dyno because I felt there was something wrong with the motor.
6. I told you I felt we should pull the car off instead of wasting your money, but you told me to keep going although I explained to you that the car would not make much more power then it was due to the motor having something wrong with it that needed to be diagnosed off the dyno.
7. You told me to keep tuning it after I showed you a stock b16 with just a chipped ecu making more power then your "built" motor:

Red line is a stock 00 b16 with a test pipe & a chipped ecu tuned by phearable.net
The blue line is lawarence's "built" b16 that was not completely tuned.
8. I pulled the car off the dyno & told you I was done and that there was no point in continuing after 1.5 hours of attempting to pull power out of the setup. (Without touching the camgears)
9. You pmed me later after 2 days telling me the motor dropped a valve & that you felt I should have played with the cam gears to try and make more power.
You would have to be a complete moron to believe that adjusting ignition timing, fuel values & vtec activation points can possible cause piston to valve contact which resulted in motor destruction. It is physically impossible for me to have caused what you said I caused.
10. I responded to you & told you that it was physically impossible for me to have caused a valve to hit your piston & destroy your motor was I never touched your camgears because it was pointless to tune the car in the first place because of the obvious problem with the motor making no power.
I have always been honest with every single one of my clients.
I tried to convince you to let me pull the car off the dyno after 30 minutes of tuning due to the fact that I felt the motor had problems due to the lack of power output. What else can you ask for ?
I take what I do seriously. If you feel that I don't know what I am doing due to your bad experience, I am sorry you feel that way.
To date I have tuned over 130 cars & continue to tune 2-3 cars a week on average. If I did not know what I was doing, I would not be in business.

Back to the main topic, if you are looking for a tuner, check the tuner directory.
All threads with these questions are always locked due to the fact that TR HT has a tuner directory.

Thanks for clearing the situation up. I would have done the same thing in your situation John

It is amazing to see how quick people turn on you when things do not go their way due to something that completely does not relate to your tuning services in any way.
Some people don't understand the dynamics of tuning & think the tuner is everything. 90% of a car is the build & construction of the motor setup.
If a motor is not performing properly & your tuner informs you of that information, you should listen to the tuners advice to try and resolve the possible issues.
