a buddy of mine he ride a 90 accord ex sohc non-vtec and there is problem with a electric fan. once he turn on the engine there is no fan that is working unless he turn on the a/c. so my buddy thought that it might actived when the engine is hot, so is still not on. funny part is that once he turn off the engine the fan comes on for about 5 mins and stop. i don't know if there is like a sensor or a timer...if there is a timer or sensor please tell me where is located and i will check it out.

** no sign any overheating.

other problem was a battery. they have replace both of them NEW and didn't know what causing to be like that. he think is from the electric fan. i remember when he told me that he unplug the harness of the fan and there was power for the car and once he plug it back of the fan...there is no power of the car.

something is not right here, and i hope you all hondas owner can help me out and my buddy. he is really frustrated right now here and he wanted to make sure is the correct situation before anything else.

forgot to mention that the electric fan is a OEM and it has two fan. one for a/c and cooling.

 

Fan:
Put your mind at ease, It's doing what it should.

A/C turns on the driver side A/C fan.

If you want a hot test, cover the radiator with cardboard and don't let air move through the radiator; the fan comes on only when it gets up to a certain temp. If driving, air goes through the radiator, and the temp
MAY NEVER get up to that certain temp.....about 180 degrees.
The Fan will cut on when the hot motor is turned off, and water stops circulating through the radiator, and the temp gets up again.

With SOME cars.............
loosen and lift the battery ground cable, if it sparks, remove the clock
fuse, (under the dash) that is all that should be powered.

If the cable sparks again when touched to the battery terminal, something else is using power. Pull the fuse to interior lights.

If the cable sparks again when touched to the battery terminal, something else is using power. Pull another fuse and repeat 2nd paragraph, until the cable no longer sparks.............and then you will have found what is drawing current from the battery.
