Default help removing oil pan!!!

I have removed all 18 bolts securing the oil and tried to bang the oil pan with a rubber hammer. But this thing would not come loose. Is it ok if I pry between the block and the oil pan? Will this damage anything? Or is there another way to take this off?

I had to use a flat head to pry it off carefully, just make sure you use a brand new oil pan gasket afterwards.

very carefully.

if you tear up the mating surface you will have never ending leaks.

If its not coming off fairly easy you've missed one or two bolts. Try hitting it with a rubber malet before prying it with a flathead. Good luck.

If this is a B series, there are 19 bolts/nuts holding the pan on...

after almost 2 hours of cutting away the honda bond and carefully prying it, the pan is off. but i only see a thin layer of honda bond between the pan and the block. there is no gasket at all. do i have to get a gasket for it if i'm putting it back on? btw this is for f23 block
