valve cover cutting

Default valve cover cutting

what are you guys cutting valve covers with , i was gonna try it with my hand grinder but the i was affraid that'll just mess up or take to long

I used a die grinder for the most part & then came through with a dremel & smoothed the edges & cleaned up the corners.

I use a 4" hole saw for "moon cuts" and a small 2x4 for back support while cutting
OR
Band saw the end off and use a belt sander to finish for the "open cut" type...

+1 for nik

thats how i would do moon cuts (just for the gears) or cut off the whole cover (which i think looks silly)

or, if you want to just outline the gears, use a dremel w/ cutoff wheel for the whole thing... i can get pics of how my last one turned out if need be...

i have done many of these cuts moon cut and full cover cut with my dreimal with a cut off wheel adaptor
