Default 92 accord tranny help

I just baught a 1992 honda accord EX, it has an automatic tranny and im having problems with it. From the moment i start the car till i turn it off the D4 light stays on and doesnt go off if i manually shift it into another gear. if i leave it in that gear it only runs in 3rd or 4th gear. If i manually shift it and bring it down in d1 it starts off in 2nd gear, i have asked a few people and they have told me that it might be a tranny computer. I have no idea. If someone might know whats wrong with it, or maby know how to fix it. Please let me know. I dont have access to a computer everyday so give me a call 727 459 9492. Thanks, Chris.

sounds more like an electrical problem... I went through something like that also(i drive a 93 Accord) and ended up finding out it was a ripped wire.

just my 2 cents

It is the TCM 9/10. To find one might be hard though. or exspensive.

It does sound like the trans control unit, it will be best to buy a new one from Honda.
