The Si and EX models of the 92-95 civic came with the D16Z6 motor, a SOHC VTEC engine. The DX, LX, CX, and VX models had the D15B7, D15B7, D15B8, and D15Z1 motors, respectively.

My assumption is that Honda put a larger diameter exhaust pipe and muffler on the performance 1.6, rather than the economy 1.5s, and that accounts for your difference in part numbers.

i had a 93 si and i had the best sound exhaust wise by just gutting the cat and cut the muffler off where it starts and put a tip about 4-5" long and 4"wide at the tip.....the exhaust gas goes into the back of your back bumper and then to the ground, resinating off of it...giving it the sound similar to a supra non-turbo....its cheap and if you dont like it you didnt spend any money and can get a new exhaust...

There is NO differance in fitment issues.Si,cx,dx,vx are just the trim levels, what matters is the chassis, that muffler is for a 92-95 CIVIC HATCHBACK!!!!!!!
