Default Advice

I just recently got my first car. a '98 Honda civic. The guy I got it from had already done some things to it (Exhaust, body kit and rims/tires). It doesnt sound like much, but im in love with it. I just would like some feedback on if i should put more money into it... or keep it lookin' good, sell it down the road and get a nicer car to fix up. I can't afford a turbo kit, or engine swap so im not sure if its worth it to do the little advancements. -Thanks

depends what u want..turbo isnt everything...u could trade ur 98 for maybe a 92-95 with a swap..or just keep ur car if its paid off and save for a swap or turbo kit..it doesnt HAVE to happen over night..

Yeah, i know what you mean. It's all payed off and everything, haven't had it all that long, but im just not sure about putting a lot of money into it over time. Im sure a 1.6L engine isn't going to last very long with a turbo, putting so much stress on it. I've been wondering if maybe a WRX would be a nicer choice down the road, because they're more for racing and what not. If i did decide to work on it slowly, do you think getting an intake kit would be a nice start for it?

well honestly..a wrx would be faster(stock) .. but i dont like the look of them..but thats me..turbo wise..there have been plenty of 1.6 sohc's to make good power turbo'd without blowing..just do some research if thats a route ur interested in...or save up for a swap..b16 b18...

Sounds like you got a pretty decent car to start with.

If you love the car, take care of it, don't abuse it, and enjoy it. Take
care of it, and you will get your money out of it easier.

Put the money you would have spent on the car, into a savings account
to buy that next car coming into your life, that you will love equally well.

Having a turbo'd nitroused fast car doesn't get you that much back at resale time. my 2 cents.-Bob

well I prefer the 92 - 95 or the teg. You could keep it & save some money & get a motor & build it & then a shell & do a project car. Or trade it for a swapped car like the other guy said. It all depends on YOUR goals & wants...
