i was driving and all of a sudden my car started acting wierd and then it finally just died i poped the hood and my spark plug wire was off the distributer i put it back on but it still wont start...what do i do??is there something else im supposed to do too when this happens
was only one wire off?
does is still turn over?
does it sound like there is compression, or is it a flat spinning noise?
do you have spark?

pop off the distributor cap and check for any signs of moisture or any broken terminals, etc...
so you checked all four cylinders and you are getting spark? or you are not?

hey, coincedently i am getting this same issue, only 1 wire poped out. i am getting a spark to it, i can smell gas...but i dont see any liquid inside it. i think the spark plug may be lose, it maked a compression sound ie ... PUH PUH PUH PUH PUH and when you rev the engine it goes quicker...PUHPUHPUHPUPHPUPH...and so forth. ive manged to get the spark wire back on and working, but im afriad it might pop off again...also the check engine like came on
yes i have that same problem..new info i checked the wire and it was burnt out on the tip (probably from sparking off on the block) the distributer cap was also burnt out on that turminal(probably from reinstalling the bad wire and trying to start it)i replaced both the distributer cap and the wires still no luck.......i assume maybe the spark plug also got fried but had no way to check it at the time...and if thats not it maybe the complete distributer because all i replaced was the cap maybe the hole dizzy is burnt out????
are these good assumptions and also what else could it be???
