depends on the compression of the pistons.

if you are going boost (low c/r), forged pistons are a good idea, but you might want to look into more economical forms of power before you drop $600 into a D16...

if you are going N/A (high c/r), there is no reason for forged internals... get some A1 pistons on LS rods and you will be pushin 12:1, and for a significantly smaller bottom line...

but thats just my $0.02. good luck with whatever.

rule of thumb for a c/r increase is that you get 10-15% of your power per point of compression. so if you are making 120 on the Z6 at 10:1, and you bump it to 12:1, you are looking in the 140-150 range. but, you will also be able to take advantage of that higher c/r by getting a bigger VTEC cam, which could be another 5-10 horse, depending on how wild the cam is.

i would agree normally, but a set of pistons and a cam isnt gonna be much more than $250, and with a chip he will be making stock B16ish numbers.

but it depends on your final goals. if this is it, stay D16 and cheap.

if you wanna go faster, go B-, H- or K-series...

(OBD0 B16A swaps are cheap as hell tho, FYI)

complete swap is $1500 http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000...USDM%20Engines

but you could probably piece it together on here for about the same if u didnt want to ship...

i agree that a D16 with decent numbers would be nice, but a D16 will pretty much max out around stock B18 numbers, unless you wanna get really crazy.

i did 4 D16 builds in my hatch before i went B18B, and i shoulda done it a long time ago
