Default !!!!!need Help With Motor Leaks!!!!!

I went to the shop today to get a oil change and the guy told me i had all kinds of leaks. he said the valve cover gasket, rear main seal, front enfine seals, and the oil pan gasket needs replaced. He estimated the whole repair at about 650.00 another reason why i am questioning this is because i spilled alot of oil over the valve cover and down the engine so i dont know if they thought that was from a oil leak. If you have anything for me to know or you know how to fix these problems please let me know. The motor is a b16

first off..clean ur motor really well and then pay attention to it..see if u r leaking oil or not..make sure u check ur dipstick to see if its low etc..then go on from there..then if there is oil leaks etc..take it to a trusted honda mechanic(check the sticky at the top of this section) and see what they would charge 650 seems way to high for me..

if you have a b-16 in your car and it is swapped them you should be able to change you own oil.

Do like stated above. Clean your entire engine and rediagnose where the oil is really leaking from. Distributor o rings can leak and make it look like a couple other things. Cam seals leaking can drip down and look like your oil pan is leaking when it may actualy not be...
650 doesnt seem too outrageous to me for a shop to charge. The rear main seal requires trans. removal which is a couple hours itself. The cam seals require timing belt removal which while your in there might as well change it also...

i just drove the car and noticed it was missing and trying to backfire when i shifted out of first so when i got home i checked the spark plugs and when i pulled one of the wires out i noticed a lot of oil in it. It was only that one. I had that done to two of my other cars but had a friend that was able to fix it.I think he sed it was something like the head gasket seal or something

actually pyro ur right thats not that bad..i didnt think of it like that..but id still make sure that the car is cleaned and try to diagnose the problem urself..before lettin a shop do it..it might not be as bad as what they say? and u might do 650 for something thats not needed..

Oil on the spark plug wires is usually the spark plug o rings. Replace all 4 along with your valvecover gasket(while your in there). I havent seen a whole lot of rear main seals leak. A leaking oil pan can look like a rear main seal which can all be traced up to your cam seals...
My opinion is always get a second opinion.
