Default syncromesh?

hey i got a tranny that is grinding third. everyone says to use gm syncromesh...is the gm brand that much better than the stuff the part store carries for use in GMs? and how much should i use? 100%? or a mix? by the way a friend works at the part store so i can get that stuff for less than $5. is it worth my money?

Yes. I swear by Royal Purple's Synchromax but GM's and Pennzoil's are good too

yep i have recently put the penzoil syncromesh in my tranny to aleviate a 2nd gear grind and it did. get the penzoil syncromesh from autozone it is the same thing as gm syncromesh just cheaper cause gm has not stamped their name on it yet.

Use 100%. If you have the money. Drain. Fill. Drive 20 miles. Drain. Fill. Basically a flush

I have never really heard of using syncromesh, so bare with me. My LS has a high 3rd gear grind, so I am contemplating on trying to fix it with the above information. So, I just go to the store, and buy as much syncromesh as I would regularly use to fill the tranny, drain and then fill 100% with this stuff? No MTF needed? Thanks, I just wanted to be completely sure before I did this so I dont fuck up my motor.
