from my understanding a n/a engine is better on a 2.5" exhaust and a fi engine is better on a 3" exhaust

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

You will be happier with a 3 inch exhaust and your power loss should be minimal to almost none depending on the exhaust you put on the car.

The muffler is going to kill you compleatly. I would in your case spend the money on a electronic cutout for a 3 inch exhaust and be done with it.

A electric cutout is a like a Y (its a electric flap that opens and closes). With a push of a button you can run open DownPipe/Headder or run stock quiet.

you buy it and have a exhaust show weld it in and you will need to wire it up.
