Exclamation Clicking Noise/ 92 Ac Legend

i recently bought a 92 legend, with a V6. its making a clicking noise that has progressively been getting worse. it does it only on acceleration and when i let off the gas at a cruising speed. it also does it softly at idle. the cars temp gauge is running normal, and it is not idling funny, so im kinda stumped. im hoping it isnt a valve, but i would like to ask some people who would know better than myself. in my twisted head im hoping its just an exhaust hanger or something, but if one of you honda guys could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

I Had something similar happen to me a while back. I thought it was something internal on the motor. Turns out it was the AC compressor. I just cut the belt until i got a new one. Does your AC compressor work? If it doesnt i would take the belt off and see if the noise goes away.

it doesnt sound like this, but just to check: if it happens while you turn, or sounds like its predominantly on one side, check your CV joints.

most likely, it sounds like you need to clearance your valves. if its a slight clicking at idle, and increases with RPM, and sounds like its coming from the valve cover/top end, you prob just need to clearance them. its not hard to do, just might be tough on the V6.

may be a few things... like he said above... you rocker arms/valve clearence may be off a tad... so you would need to check and adjust the clearance....
the other can be, your oil squirters that lube up the rocker arms may be clogged with junk and are not lubing them properly... and finally, you need to put your ear near the motor while someone revs it up a bit to find out if it is in your top end of the motor or the bottom end... lighter/faster tapping is most likely top end... louder/slower tapping is usually bottom end.

actually... on some fuel injection cars you can actually hear the injectors spitting the fuel into the cylinder... the higher you rev up the faster the injectors squirt... this is very common with older v6's and other tpyes of motors... but like i said before... just listen to it carefully. good luck

Hey, i took it to a shop, and i found out that it is most likely my "flex-plate." could someone please please explain this to my slightly stoopid ass. and if anyone knows of a respectable shop that could replace it, that would be killer.
