Ok i previously posted my 89 legend auto tranny all gears are out except 2nd. possibly the VSS i was told. So, today i buy one and put it in. Start driving the car everything is back to normal!!! Then i decide to try and shift it myself to see if its all still good. Works once. Works twice. Then i put it back in drive and it goes out again. I stop the car and try starting in drive again. nothing. so im gonna go order my tranny 2morrow. any ideas on this would help alot.

 

just get the tranny like i told you. go get your money back for the vss.

 

you think the change in driving with the vss doesnt mean the tranny ecu or main ecu might be having some issues with the vss or wiring somewhere? a tranny might be kinda expensive with labor and all. if your tranny is shot why would the vss change the way its driving the way it did? i suspect trann ecu or somewhere along those lines, do you have any codes stored in the ecu?

Ive found a recall on the 88 legend tranny and according to Acura there were 2 models of the 89 legend the Older 89 legend released late 88 which used the 88 tranny and the neweer 89 legend released mid 89. Would the dealership cover this still? Going to call and find out 2morrow for sure!!!!!

 

i doubt it, even if you are the original owner and have proof of all service done to the car. its an 89.
