I recently bought a 89 Acura Integra, cheap steal 500 bucks clean everything works pioneer deck, power everything, fog lights. Awesome deal sounds great with my alpine 12 and 800watt xplod amp. Catch. All of the gears in the transmission are out including reverse except 2nd. And the guy offered me a tranny for 300.


I read on honda/acura forum that when the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) Goes out all the gears go out except 2nd. A safety pracaution for the transmisson, is this true?

i had this issue a while ago with my old car and 2nd gear was the only gear skipped.

 

was it a sensor or ?? I want to make sure before i spend 150 on a sensor or 300 on a tranny dont wanna buy both if i dont have to

 

Yeah, really what was the point of listing that? I'm putting my car stereo in all my posts now, even if they're not about my car.

 

before u pay $150 for a vss, post in the H/A parts forum cause u really dont need to buy a new 1 a used 1 will work just as good and b way cheaper....BTW Awesome sound system+2
