Default To turn or to not turn

Situation
LS crank with a good gash on a journal.
Either turn it or buy a new one for $200?
Yea, I do know that turning a crank may permit some loss of strength, but what about the heat cycles it goes through and becomes semi-forged?
Yes, I do plan on making some power with this motor, most likely boost but, awhile down the road. So I'm thinking turn it and get the motor in the car and drive it. Opinions...Suggestions?

if you buy a "new" one from discount, napa etc...they are turned also...just remanned... Unless you get a NEW NEW one from HONDA, but those are uber expensive.

Get a used one in good condition. NEVER run a Honda crank that has been turned. A micropolish is good but a truning down is very bad idea. Used LS cranks go for about a $100 in good condition.

Alright I'll look around and thanks for the help guys i appreciate it.
But, I do have this feeling since it is fairly hard to get a ls shortblock for a decent price i might have to fork out some good money for a crank.
What about using a remanned crank, like Jake said?
