blown motor

Pull the head off, pull the oil pan off, take out the rod bolts on the one rod/piston, pull it out, put the new one in.
I don't recomend doing it, cause the crank probly needs some work on it.
Hell it's a 1.5, just get a new block for 20$ from someone.

like he said, remove the head the oil pain and unblot the 2 bolts holding the rod cap on the broken piston/rod... when you unbolt it you will to push it up and pull the piston and rod out the top of the motor where you took the head off. if you go that far, it might be a good idea to replace the all the piston rings and bearings, and also maybe get your crank turned, no sense in taking all apart and not doing it right...
like Jake said above, if its a spun bearing... you will need crank work... that usually runs from 80- 100 dollars... and replacing all the beaings and rings... ur looking at around 2 hundred for the complete repair... if done right. Jake is also right about the fact that it may be cheaper to go and buy another block from someone, but IMO i would fix this block like i just said... that way it would be in great condition and you know its done right... when u buy a block, you never know how close it really is to breaking, so in that sense, you can spend anywhere up to 100 dollars on another block and take a chance, or you can put this one back together the rightway and spend a lil more money... IMO, you should just rebuild the one you have (replacing all piston rings, bearings and gettng the crank turned), that way you know its in good shape and will last.

future problems... buying another block can be risky sometimes, like i said above, you never know what kinda shape the other block is in, and there is no telling if the motor will blow in the near future, then its back to square one again... i would put new piston rings, new bearings, and get the crank turned. that way u know the motor is in good condition... sure you spend a lil more cash but it may be well worth it IMO. I think you would be taking more of a chance by buying another used block... that could possibly have been raced with and beat on. I had a d16 with about 200,000 miles on it... rebuilt it when i blew it... and i sold it to someone else... they have over 350,000 miles on it now and it still runs good with out any problems.
Unless you buy a motor that has already been fairly restored and has been takin good care of. And what is the odds you will find someone dumbe enough to sell a fresh rebuilt block for less than what it will cost to diy.... it could be real risky. just be careful with ur decision making.

either way expect a nice project. A: replacing everything while motor is in
or B: pulling entire motor swapping everything over to the new block and re-installing
