Default How much longer will my engine last? Lol.

Was just wondering how much of a pounding will my B16A2 take before dying on me. Lol. So far I've froze the engine twice by sucking up water through my AEM cold air intake. Once a couple months ago, and the second time today while hitting the gas through a puddle I didn't see going to school in the morning. Miraculously both times there were no screeching or rubbing noises letting me know that I didn't throw a rod or bent one or hit any valves...But really how much more of this abuse will it take...It's running right now, still hits VTEC fine and strong as ever, but I run that thing to the ground hitting VTEC and 7,000 RPm's almost everyday. The motor has around 100,000 miles and I don't know how much longer it will last in my hands. Luckily I got a B18C1 build in the works and plan on redoing the valvetrain when I swap it out. Hit me with your opinions TR! Thanks.

i think it would be smart to check/change your oil just incase... if you got water in the intake as long as its not too much it would just get burned up in the combustion chamber... i dont think it can get into your oil

Well right now I noticed whenever I'm in neutral and free-rev the engine it makes a couple loud popping/cracking noises in VTEC then it dies down from VTEC and it stops making the noise. My suggestion was there's still water in the engine and it's trying to burn it up, but I could be wrong.

your car shouldn't hit vtec free reving unless you disabled the speed check in the ECU.... and if there is still water in the motor then you get a big problem, it should have burned the water the first couple rotations or so....you got lucky it didnt hydro lock the motor....just my .02

pft change to stock intake and beat the hell out of it till it blows if you enjoy driving like a jackass 24/7 i turboed my b16a3 at 165k and it worked fine till the oil pump went out, so your motor is not close to death...maybe a major checkup and tune up but not death
