ac turns on one day then it off

Check the blower. Could have a short by that. Turn the a/c on full blast, and if it does not work, reach below your glove box and kinda hit up. If it turns on, there is a ground issue or lose wire.

It might be more expedient to just run a second ground wire, if the old one is hard to get to, and later when you have more time, go back and fix the original. More than one ground won't hurt anything.-Bob
