wheel stud problems???

Default wheel stud problems???

aight this mite sound stupid but im tryin to replace 2 of the 4 studs on my front wheel since they both broke. i need help. i got the rotor off and everything but cant bang the studs out cuz of the hub i think if thats rite . so i need help wat should i do from here. thanx for the input first time doin this so need help thanx.

you need to have the hub pressed out, studs put in, then hub pressed back together w/ a new bearing....PM DEMONCIVIC he has a press and i belive he does that type of work.

or if you have a slide hammer, that works too

if you havent done it before i dont recommend it...even though i am a DIY guy...if you cang et your hands on a SLide hammer go for it.

Or an air hammer with a punch set. I knock them back a little,cut off the head with a cutting wheel and the knock them back the other way with an air hammer and a punch set. Then just grind a flat spot on the new ones and drive the new ones in from the back...

I would not recomend cutting a side off the stud. Just use the slide hammer and get the hub off replace the stud and then use the axle nut and a impact to get it back together. Thats what we do at work everytime we need to change the studs.
