Will 2 inch drop spring blow out stock struts?
Will a 2inch drop on a 2006 Civic blow out the shocks sooner than a year ? I talked to some people about geting these springs installed and they said I should be ok , but Im uncertian cause I have known people with coilovers blow out there struts fast So will i be safe on a 2 inch drops as long as I dont exced that or do I need to only get a spring with a 1.5 inch drop ?

They will NOT blow them out within a year. i dropped a 4dr eg 2inches on 14 year old struts! rode for 2 yrs befor they blew. your civic is an 06. you wont have a problem.
Good Luck

not the smartest thing to do it will ride like ass and bottom out every bump you hit. i you remove the bump stop they will pop. The Struts themselves will not function properly with the car being lowered. Stock Struts FTL
I have done street lowering of 1.5" using a person's
stock springs and shocks, to save people money.
I know how to calculate the drop without it
causing "CV joint death".
2" drop sometimes requires a camber it.
I have been "told" that cheaper shocks go away in about a year.
That was my experience also with $90 Tokico's.
ChiTown Brat swears by "Ground control" shocks, so you might pm her to find where she gets them.
Sometime if you want to test some 2" drop springs, to see what it does
as far as camber wear, pm me. Some springs advertised as 2" drop don't really drop EVERY car by 2"; and for some, it's more than 2".-Bob

Ahhh, Finally a question I can show my knowledge and researched info.
Anything over a 1.5" drop on stock shocks will ride rough and prematurely blow your shocks within a few thousand miles.
A stock shock is engineered to sit in a certain spot when parked/not compressing.
There is a thick multi layered rubber and metal ringed gasket (shock piston) inside the shock that is mounted to the top of the shaft.
It is meant to sit in a certain spot (The Sweet Spot) when not compressing/dampening.
If you lower a vehicle more then 1.5", You are changing the Sweet Spot location and that will wear out both the inside wall of the shock and the piston, Not to mention there will be less travel clearance of the shaft to compress under load, and will bottom out the inside of the shock.
Bottoming out will eventually wear a dent or hole in the cylinder of the shock and break the seal.
Most if not all stock shocks have an allowance area of clearance before under compression, This is about 1.65" long.
That's why people that want a minimal lowering go with an Eibach Pro Kit.
There are also some good answers to any other questions you may have about suspension upgrading here in this link.

Howstuffworks "How Car Suspensions Work"
Aftermarket Shocks are designed to fit standard height cars and can work with lowered cars as long as they don't bottom out internally and become damaged. Unlike stock shocks,The inner wall cylinder of a Aftermarket shock is thicker, Longer, and the Shock Piston is made of a heavier duty material.Aftermarkets are not position sensitive so they will work properly anywhere in their stroke range providing they are not bottoming or topping out. Different vehicle suspension designs have different stroke travels but a good rule of thumb is that most vehicles can be lowered acceptably about 1 1/2 inches, beyond that the possibility of bottoming increases rapidly although some longer stroke cars can go lower. Most vehicles are equipped with bump stops to keep the shocks and springs from bottoming out. When lowering a vehicle be sure to reuse your bump stops as they are cheap insurance to avoid bottoming damage. Remember also that severely lowered vehicles typically also have a negative effect on suspension geometry, ride quality and handling, and tire and suspension part wear.
G/L with your decision

yeah you are not likely to "blow" them right away, however you should be concerned about the performance of stock dampers with shortened springs I imagine beyond just the look of a droped car you are lowering it to improve perfomance. That being said you will have a lower center of gravity but most likely a whole lot more bump steer and a whole list of other issues as well. Not a good long term plan to run oem struts with springs
Here leme say it again in idioit terms..
DONT DO IT !! or you will have a shitty ass ride. Lowering springs need performance dampers. The Piston heith of a stock Strut is to high for the Compressed spring when the spring is about 3/4 the way sprung the Strut is fuly collapsed resulting in bottoming out. Continued abuse this will will blow seals and eventually you will have no rebound dampening, hence the bouncy ride. You need a Shorter Strut and correct Spring combo.
2" on stock struts = hell
1.5" pushing it
1" decent
2" drop will not deform CV's joints its the constant abuse the driveline sees that destroys them as well as cut springs. The degree of the centerline of the axles is what splits the CV joints. If the wheel/hub is properly cambered you wont have this issue. You guys shouldnt ask dumb questions, they make aftermarket dampners and spring combos for a reason.
