what head do i have???
when i bought my car i was told it had a mini me swap, i just want to know what head i have, where can i look to figure this out? and also where can i look to see what block i have? i dont think its the original from the car, i was told it only has 60000miles on it. i just want to figure out exactally what my set up is. thanks in advance.

mini me swap is a single cam vtech what number does it say on the block it should be like d16y8 or d16y7 but the y7 is non vtec, it should say the numbers rite under the head where the tranny and block meets

well u can c if its v-tec or not by finding the lil solenoid under the breather on the valve cover if thare is one then its v-tec which would mean its a z6 head or y8 (i think the z6 and y8 are the only v-tec d16 out thare not sure tho)

yes i have the solenoid, i know it is vtec for sure, there is a little light next to my tach that comes on when the vtec kicks in and i hear/feel the difference as soon as it kicks in, i would just like to know which vtec head i actually have. thanks

Mini-me swap is a d16 head (one w/ VTEC) onto a D15 block(USDM non-VTEC). And if you want to know whether or not you have VTEC on a single cam just look at where the plug wires are. No VTEC the plugs are on the back of the valve cover towards the firewall, with VTEC they are on the front. Hope this helps.
There is no way to tell exactly which head you have that I know of(without removing it). Its just some form of a D16 VTEC head. If you want to know for sure ask the person you bought the car from.

i know that the indicator light doesnt mean that i have vtec, i know i have vtec, i just wanted to know which vtec head i had, i want questioning if i had vtec or not, i have the solenoid and i have a vtec head, i just didnt know which one. im not a complete moron, i just dont know an extensive amount about these cars. thank you EconoBox for answering my question, and thanks every one else that helped.
