I want to know what you guys think is a better motor the b20 or the b18b im lookin to get one of these swapped into my car asap. its i short fix until a save up enough money to do my k20 swap. Lmk which you think is best and y. Thanks

explain your reason why you arent a fan? Do you even know anything about the two?

 

it Depends on what your trying to do.

Stock to stock the b20 will out perform the b18 all day long.

Also, the motors are IDENTICAL minus the fact that the b20 is 84mm vs the ls being 81mm. The head castings are the same, rods are the same, cranks are the same, oil pumps, EVERYTHING. The I/M are different but that is easily fixed by putting a LS on on the b20.

some people say b20 sleeves are weak, blah blah blah. Well i have put 125shot of nitrous to a b20 , daily driven motor and have NEVER had problems. Ive owned 3 b20's and never had a problem.

I have ownd both and IMO b20 > LS anyday

Now take into fact i have never boosted either one, but from what i hear when boosted LS > b20 boosted.

Also the b20z > b20b, as the Z has more compression. BUt like stated above password JDM is selling the b20b's uber cheap.

I do know that the b20 sleeves are weak.. and I'm not to sure of the revvin capabalities of it.. only advantage I see to it is the displacement..

plus the motor to me just seems like an oddball.

as far as the rev capabilities of the motors, they are the same as they have the same rod/stroke ratio. The ONLY differance like i said is the sleeves. It has not been proven ( to me anyways ) that they are weaker. I HAVE had experiance with both motors. Either way. Everyone has their own opinion.
