Need some help with 97 Accord
Hi all my friend has a 97 accord SE coupe, When you accell over 40 and then slow down. there is this horrible whineing noise from the front of the car. The check engine light is one it was throwing a code for the lock up selinoid. But i just replaced it and its still doing it. Also when in D4 it seems to miss 2nd gear just shift straight to 3rd or 4th it feels like there is little accell when holding the peddel to the floor. Need some help here. and I allready checked tranny fluid it is full.
Replace the transmission also replace the pcm. 9/10 the starter or 2nd gear clutch is worn and or damaged 2nd gear. If you strain the fluid you will probably end up with alot of forgein matter in the fluid that shouldn't be there. Also before running the new transmission or used. Make sure you flush as much of the old fluid out of the cooler and lines so you don't get mixed with old contaiments with the new. Doesn't matter what code it was for the lock up solnoid either it being stuck or solnoid B for reverse. A worn or damaged 2 gear or 2 gears in the transmission are damaged or worn. But I can garantee you from experince that your going to have to replace the transmission.

Well I know its not the starter, Cause the car only does it when you are over 40 mph. and slow down. The noise is there till you hit the gas. then it gos away untill you slow down again. Well 2nd gear works if you put it in 2 on the shifter. but if on D4 it just skips second. and the D4 light is blinking on the dash.
