car wont start with key

i got into my car this morning and it wouldnt start with a key so i thought the battery termails were off but everything in the car lite up so than i went to the starter and jump the solinod and the car started. What could cause my car not starting with my key cuz i dont want to run a switch. oh when i turn the key over something clicks under the dash. plz help.

check the clutch safety switch located at the top of your clutch pedal, starter solenoid and the ignition switch

neutral safety control switch aka clutch safety switch just had to put the nob it hits back in mine fell out!

I concur with demon Civic. As an anti-theft device, I also would install a stealth starter switch and keep the steering lock.....even after you "fix" the starting problem.-Bob
