i got problem with my 96 teg ls automatic

There a check engine light n got it check it n it say crankshaft sensor ..?loose or be bad , a friend of mine told me that the sensor doesnt go bad all the time so anyone can help me fix this problem or tell me a place that can fix it for cheap???lmk ASAP

What code was it ?
Code 9 ?

If so, replace the distributor assembly.
