Hey man

Not too sure about the hpower gain but yes you would feel a diferance
due to higher compression , but it also depends if you are using USDM
or JDM ITR pistons USDM typeR pistons are a little higher compression than a USDM GSR so u wouldnt feel too much.
Though if you go with JDM TypeR you will be going from 10.1 too 11.1
compression = a nice little gain (:

I am about to do the sam thing in my GSR
but i am getting larger pistons
81.25 over bore 11.1 compression
but i will be doing the whole motor with cams and ect to complement
the higher compression pistons !

If you need any aftermarket parts
Let me know I own a business

either will yield a good difference in comp...usdm 10.83 jdm 11.36...id def go the jdm over the usdm...but id try to get the ctr pistons where ud be at 12:1...a big difference...or even p30jdm b16 11.56:1...

What other mods to the motor. A stock motor wouldnt beneifit worth the $$ just to put ITR pistons in it. just my 2 cents

you will get a gain, but like T4eg said, by itself it wont be huge.

a set of ITR/CTR/skunk2 cams and an ECU chip would bring some pretty solid gains out, without too much money.

yea, i got some decent gains with my type r pistons and skunk2 cams. The compression raise wont do to much alone....like everyone else has said

Stay away from ctr's. USDM b16a pistons are a good upgrade and usually work out to about 11.5:1 which is perfect for a street 93 octane motor. The CTR's due to their difference in comp height (wrist pin to crown) have a higher compression ratio than most of the available calculators say. With a gsr head you will end up alot closer to 12.5:1.
