Default hesitaion while in VTEC?

ok i have a 90 EF hatch with a JDM GSR(B18C) has ITR cams and omni power valvetrain, skunk2 intake mani. DC 4-1... car has been converted to OBD-1 using a complete harness out of a 93 DA TEG. and has a VAFC-1 only running VTEC ECU is a P06 with GSR maps and converted for VTEC, but ive also used a P72 ECU and same results, and i also tried a new dizzy...oil pressure is fine, VTEC sol. screens are clean...

ok onto the problem....car runs great untill 300-500rpms into VTEC, VTEC is set at 5200, now if i disconnect VTEC it runs fine all the way to redline wich is 8600rpms....i dont know how to explain what its doing, but its kinda like a hesitation/miss fire, i dont know what to call it....

anyone have any clue what might be the problem??

I wnat to say that it might be in your wirring or maybe the computer, but you already tried a different computer. to me, it doesnt sound like a mechanical problem, since it runs fine without VTEC and with VTEC you said it miss fires and hesitates. does it also back fires?

it could be something in the wiring, i got a pin-out and diagram for the harness im gonna go through everything....no backfiring, and its not really a missfire, it just feels sluggish and hesitant....

Hmm, if the ecu is chipped, have a tuner check out the fuel maps for the secondary cam lobes and make sure they are ok.
