Default Distributor internals . .. Need Help . .

Does anyone know if any honda internal distributor guts are interchangable with some sub-assemblies? I have this brand new 95 ex distributor sub assembly. No ingnitor or coil, cap rotor etc.. I have some distributors laying around the shop and possiable at home. I was thinking of trying to see if any are interchangable?

I looking at part numbers too. Thanks

Logically, I would consider

1.compatability of wiring to engine harness wiring. (will it do the same job?)

2.the size of components, and will they physically fit. (some modifying of attachment method and wiring may be needed) example: I don't object to placing components in a remote location, and running a wire to carry the current to that location.-Bob

the guts from a sohc to dohc will fit physically , but the location of the rotor/end gear will not be the same as a true dohc dizzy.

I hope that makes sense to you, if not I will try to explain it better. But just look at the two side by side.......... the end gear will fit into the cam , but the rotor won't be pointing to the correct cylinder.
