definately run a relay, this way you can use a small micro switch without worrying about the amp rating. and it keeps the fuel pump power wire intact....yes you cut it, but the contacts of the relay basically is a wire, so it's like adding an inch and a half of wire to the middle of the power wire, so there is little that can fry on that side. The coil is a low current device so hook to power (acc) and the other side to the switch then to ground. A micro switch can be mounted almost anywhere, and if you get a thin push on push off, you can hide it under the carpet.

The stealth enable/disable switches that I install are done similar to how Kender does it.

Relays are good, but not always needed, since there is more than one way to solve a problem. -Bob

No, doubt there is more than one way to skin a cat. You and I have the knowledge to look at the switches rated amps and the circuit, to make sure the switch doesn't fry, but for the novice that may be reading this I try to give the "safe" way that has the least chance of frying something. I have run switches on the power wire to the ecu, low current, so a direct switch. Alot of it depends on the circuit and how hidden the switch. I stole a button out of a 1980's vcr and used it for a push button starter, it definately needed a relay. I come from the school of thought that says "Measure twice, cut once" so I tend to put relays in even when they aren't neccesarily needed, so "when in doubt, don't leave the relay out"
