f22a6 problem?
A buddy of mine bent a valve, we pulled the head and had another head laying around, so we pulled that valve out and put it in the original head, in the process we changed the timing belt and balance shaft belt, well we get everything back together, the valve is seating correctly, and it's dying out around 4500-5000 rpms, and has a slight miss to it, the intake is sucking VERY loud, much louder than it ever has.. any ideas?
We are almost POSITIVE the timing is correct, it's at 15 degrees and we put the motor to TDC before the head went on to make sure..
Also, the spark plugs are BRAND NEW with like 20 miles on them, and are solid white already, just don't understand why..
The car is really weak at higher RPM's and cuts out at about 5k, and the intake is ironicly loud...

did you do a regular check? meaning... a compression check to make sure your job is done right... check the fuel at the tester screw on the fuel filter... check for spark, the old screw driver in the end of the plug wire trick. have you checked all of this to make sure its correct. also how does the car sound when its at idle? does it sound like it did before you replaced the valve?
either way... when i adjusted my own timing and was off one tooth... it would rev up good til i hit about 4000 - 5000 rpm's then sputter and hesitate... also if your intake is sucking real loud... i would still say your timing may be one tooth off. meaning your intake cam is one tooth off.
i dunno what it is but ive checked everything...wonderin if my valves not seatin and stayin open n makin it lack power...i just dont see how if the timins 1 tooth off why itll do that so lmk people..
