Default Brake Switch Not Touching Pedal

Hey guys my friend has a 94 civic ex and just recently the switch to turn on and off the brake lights has stopped touching the brake pedal, so now the light are on all the time draining her battery. Is there any way of adjusting the switch to move it outward so it can touch the pedal?

yes. It is a 14mm. Get a open ended wrench and adjust. With the pedal depressed just move the switch in further. Just barely were the plunger can be seen. Also check the plastic tab. Its probably worn out. On automatics its usually a complaint of not being able to get the car out of park. For 5spd or like newer models 6spds. The brake lights stay on.
