pros and cons??

 

tuning.....is the only pro to obd1 and the only reason it should be done.

Actually its easier to chip a (chipable) OBD0 ECU than an OBD1 ECU. OBD0 can be tuned, but the ability to add extra features and get a more percise tune are not as easy as a OBD1 setup, but there are some good tuning programs out there for OBD0 setups, as I have tuned a number of very respectable setups on OBD0 systems... I always recemend converting, but for some its not in the budget, So it is nessecery to stay with there current setup. the software for tuning the 0 ecu's are getting better and better as time goes by, back some time ago it was a system that wasnt worth a damn, but time has shown that its not so true anymore.....

 

eh..and the fact that the pre-obd distributors always throw codes and the obd1 distributors interchange better with obd1 and obd2 distributors. Multitude of obd1 ecus that can be modified to meet many different setups. One 4-wire O2 sensor mounted in the traditional location typically found on many exhaust and test pipes as opposed to the two 1-wire O2 sensors found on the exhaust manifold. Quit a few reasons.
