my info may not be complete, previous post is on key as well..redpepper is mainly 1st gen....you will need to address the fuel tank issue as well. carbed cars dont have the fuel return. fuel injected does, so you will have to figure out how you will run a return line back to the fuel tank. there will be alot of wiring to get it in but it can be done if you really want to. it may be easier to get an si, its already fuel injected. hasport also has the mounts and such for this swap, but are expensive. last but not least, if you do get it in there you should definitly post pics. good luck

For a fuel return line, first look carefully at how your lines are connected.
Maybe take a picture, even.

Next go to a junkyard, and find a car WITH return line, (not even
the same/exact year)and remove it; INCLUDING the extra piping, solid and flexible, back at the gas tank, that allows gas to return into the tank. This will show you the route that you will follow for your return line.

If you have to cut a line, you can enclose the
cut *inside* a rubber hose. That is how I would plumb a return line.-Bob

redpepperacing.com is THE source for the best information for the 84-87 Civic/CRX

for all that it is worth, these carbed cars do have a fuel return line. the feed line and the return lines are both smaller on the carbed cars vs. the injected cars. if you are intended to build this for serious HP, then you may wish to consider custom fuel supply setup. if only going for mild build, then swap the fuel lines from the injected car (there are 2 injected crxs in the tampa LKQ pull it yard) these lines run inside the car including under the dash. the fuel tanks including the pickups have already been removed...and are discontinued from Honda.
As far as the wiring...the best setup would be to swap the main cabin and engine harnesses from 88-89 integra. the reason not to use the 86-87 integra or the 85-87 crx is in the fact that the engine control system on those earlier cars had no easy provision for idle air control valve and used vacuum advance for the distributor (plus quite a few other issues). 88+ civic or crx could probably be used but be prepared for a major wiring challenge.

rear suspension is solid axle with a panhard bar. when you lower it, it moves the axle closer to the driver side, so the damn wheel rubs. i had that in my 86 dx. but if i still had it i would do the swap. just for an experience. they are light. retro seems to have a good idea with the teg harness too. what kind of motor are you planning on putting in it? d or b? just curious.
