d16y8 in eg O2 sensor PROBLEMS!! HELP
I am close to driving my civic into a river...It's a 95 dx civic w/d16y8 swap. My O2 SENSOR LIGHT...CEL#1...came on so I put in a new $90 sensor. Surprise, light is still on after disconnecting the battery after driving it for quite a while. And if that's not enough, my VTEC is intermitent and the CEL #22 goes on for "VTEC oil pressure swicth". If anyone has a real live-feed scanner that can tell me what my sensor say real-time, I'd appreciate it along with any advice. Thanks.

I left out some details...I have a p28 ecu and used the original obd1 harness off the dx and added the vtec wire and oil pressure wire to the ecu. It has to be pinned correct because the vtec briefly worked then stopped. If I could hook it up to a scanner while it runs I could see what the o2 sensor is doing along with the vtec pressure signal....keep the tips coming, we can make this poor sohc run right again, but only with some help...
are you useing a 4 wire o2 sensor? also alot of hondas dont take to well to non oem o2 sensors. also check your oil level for the vtec problem since the y8 is notrious for oil consumption, which leads to a blown motor.
