The magnetic pickup sensors are directly connected to the harness.
If your magnetic sensors are malfunctioning in the dizzy that has the obd1 plugs you need, your fucked. You have to find another set of obd1 dizzy internals.
What your saying makes perfect sence, but not in this guys case.
His obd1 dizzy got fucked, and he has a obd2 dizzy in working order. His issue is he can't plugin his obd2 dizzy into his obd1 engine harness.
His only solution is to change the plugs on the obd2 dizzy to obd1 or convert his engine harness to an obd2 connector.
He could also find a obd1 dizzy such as a ls/sohc & use those sensors/harness in his current dizzy.

Convert Dizzy ODB1 and ODB2
I can do this for anyone... bring me both dizzy's.... I have odb2 vtec dizzy, with odb1 ls guts....only difference is the connectors and pins (would not recommend pin swapping as the pins are SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT and don't seat in the connector perfectly, but it will work) shared_pm me if you need this done or vice versa!!!
